Opened in 2014, the airport costs $16 billion and took more than 10 years to cemplete. It has shopping emporium with 70 outlets, 30 cafes / restaurents, masjid, squash courts, a spa & 2 hotels. The entire airport is clean and efficient yet offering too many non-essentials such as expensive art & luxurious shops and not enough of the must have basics such as restaurents.
This brand new ultramodern airport replaced the Doha International Airport but still cares the airport code DOH. Everything is contained in one shiny, sprawling terminal & since long layovers are typical and many flights depart after mid night, the entire terminal is alive 24*7 & is equipped with high-end shopping & various curiosities. The entire terminal also provides free WiFi acess to its visitors.
